Features of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

  • Strong, but flexible
  • High resistance against impact
  • Durable
  • Doesn’t absorb water and water doesn’t cling to it (ideal for electric fences)
  • Can be welded
  • Light in weight
  • “flashpoint” (melting point without flame) is 250°C 
  • The heat directly in front of a veld fire is ±200°C and therefore the droppers won’t easily melt.

The droppers have been tested by the SABS and have been found to have a break power of 2.995kN. It only started to stretch at 3.01 kN.
